Are you ready for this year?

Do you know what you want to do? Do you know what you want to achieve? Where you want to go? Who you want to meet? Where you want to move? Do you know what you didn’t get done last year that you want to commit to for this year?

If you didn’t answer YES to all of those questions, you are doing yourself a huge disservice.


Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about spontaneity and letting the chips fall where they may, and letting the wind blow you in directions that you didn’t think possible. I’m all about surprises and letting life do its thing, no matter how much you have planned. I’m not the one who will tell you to stay on your planned path just for the sake of the planned path – life is exciting and fun, and should be lived that way, every single day, in every way possible…


You need to set your sail in order for the wind to take you on an uncharted journey.

Don’t leave your life up to chance and circumstance in the hopes that someone or something is going to come along and change things dramatically for the better for you! That’s lazy thinking. As Jim Rohn says,

“What if they never show up??”

You need to make plans and write down goals, and every day you need to be doing small things that lead you in the direction towards those goals, no matter how seemingly insignificant.

And not all goals don’t need to be financial or work-related (though I strongly suggest having those, and if you have resistance to those types of goals, you need to ask yourself why!). Goals can be mindset-related, happiness-related; the goal to cultivate amazing friendships; to spend more time in the moment; to make family time as important as any other time; to have less negative self-talk; to be more understanding; less judgmental; more compassionate and apathetic towards those you don’t know…

If nothing else, make the goal to be a better person in 2015, and break down that goal into bite-sized pieces.

It’s time for you to become the person that you have always wanted to be.

Take this year to become that person. Sit down today with a notebook and 30 uninterrupted minutes, and write out your perfect day – who you are, the things you say, the money you earn, the skills you have, what you look like, who you are friends with, where you spend your time, what is important to you…write it like a story – get excited by it, have fun with it…

Then make the commitment to make that story a reality. Break down each moment in the story, each detail, and write 5-10 things that you could do to get closer to that. Make this fun. Goal setting doesn’t have to be boring 🙂

I just want you to challenge yourselves this year to be the very best that you can be. I want you to have the most fun, to have the best moments, to wake up every morning with purpose and excited by the day ahead of you. There is no reason you should not feel like that.

  1. Thanks for the reminder Laura! This year I’m writing up a few extremely important goals and the steps to get there. I’m sure you know my main one. 2015 is the year its going to happen!! and then some smaller goals. Still just as important as the ones above but not such a huge undertaking 🙂 I’m happy about setting my goals and I’m even happier to start the steps to achieve them. Hooray for 2015 and Hooray for life and all it give us 🙂
