some mornings.

I wake up overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to do.

I’m not talking about work-work, my to-do list, or mindless errands, I mean work on myself.

I have such a long way to go, I worry to myself. There are so many things I need to improve on to get everything I want, and so little time in the day…how can I make this work? Will it work? How will I know? What if I’m moving in the wrong direction?

Then I remember this:

If I become the absolute greatest at what I want to do for a living, I will get the absolute greatest work.

If I become the ultimate friend, I will have only the ultimate friends.

If I become incredible with money, I will have incredible money.

If I become the very best person I can be; if I set good boundaries and stand up for myself; if I am open, honest, loving, forgiving, fun, vulnerable, non-judgemental, ethical, gracious, generous, direct; if I say how I feel always, and if I am consistent, I will, without a doubt, be with a person as amazing as that.

It may sound simple, and something I have talked about before, but it hit me today in such a clear way.

There are no shortcuts to what you want – luck doesn’t just happen. You get only what you give.

So give, grow, and get better every day in what you want. I want it all so, as I said, I have a long way to go…

But you have to start somewhere 🙂
